RINGS OF BRIGHT WATER 40X24 inches AVAILABLE FROM COTSWOLD CONTEMPOARY
This painting depicts Maya, one of the best known tigers in Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, just south of Nagpur in central India.  Maya is a tigress known locally as the Queen of Tadoba, as she is such a fine specimen.  The scene itself has every ingredient that attracts me as an artist: warm light, beautiful reflections, stunning colours and is just an incredible spectacle in its own right.  Wild tigers in India are never the easiest animal to find and so the excitement of seeing them is somewhat heightened when compared to seeing cats in Africa.  They are still hunted for skins and other horrid reasons and I feel privileged to have seen them myself in their natural habitat.
